The American Legion is the largest wartime veteran’s service organization with 2.4 million members in almost 14,000 posts in nearly every community in America. The Legion, established by an act of Congress in 1919, was instrumental in getting the original GI Bill through Congress and the creation of the Department of Veterans Affairs. American Legion Post 170 is proud to represent our community and to be a part of our nation’s history.

Today, the organization is active throughout the United States, supporting current military personnel and veterans, sponsoring American Legion baseball, boys state, oratorical contests and other activities for youth. Legion Post 170 is active in our local community, supports military funerals, and is home to over 280 of our fallen veteran's flags.

The American Legion protects your benefits and ensures the claims that you file for yourself and your families are kept in place. If you don’t want to join for yourself, join for those that served with you.

If you have a desire to “give back”, please give your County Veterans Service Officer a call and he or she can put you in contact with your post’s Commander or Adjutant.
