Tilden Volunteer Fire Department Expands Its Fleet

Story

Members of the Tilden Volunteer Fire Department spent Tuesday evening, August 29, training on the newest addition to its fleet, a 2017 Freightliner pumper tanker, which arrived earlier that same day. The apparatus was manufactured by Toyne, Inc, of Breda, Iowa.

Joe Moller of Toyne delivered the truck and assisted with the evening training. The truck is equipped with a 1,250 gallon per minute pump and a 3,000-gallon water tank. It will serve a dual role as a tanker for rural areas and a pumper for the city.

The combined efforts of both the Tilden Rural Fire Board and Volunteer Fire Department, in addition to the support of the City of Tilden and its residents, made the acquisition of this apparatus possible.
